The moments
Your home court heats up: four or more hoopers checked in Here now, and everyone who claims that court as home and is not there gets the call, at most once every four hours. Your run starts inside the hour: everyone on a registered lineup, every open player and the organiser get the tip time. The last spot in your run goes: the organiser hears the field is set. You join a squad: welcome to the team. A friend checks in at a court. A challenge for your court has sat unanswered for a day: answer it or it will expire. And when your check-in is about to go stale, a nudge asks if you are still at the court so one tap keeps you on the map.
The inbox
Every notification also lands in the inbox, so a ping you swiped away is never lost. The bell badge only exists when something is actually waiting: challenges against your team, team invites, friend requests, and unread notices, live as they happen. Each row deep links to the thing itself, the court, the run or the team, and opening the inbox marks your notices read. Read notices clear out after sixty days.
Five switches, not fifty
Settings gives you five push switches: Runs, Courts, Team, Friends and Nudges. Every kind of notification belongs to exactly one, so muting Nudges silences the still-here check without touching your run reminders. Nothing is muted by default, and mutes only stop the push: a muted kind still lands in your inbox, so you choose what interrupts you, not what you know.
Quiet overnight, never a flood
Pushes hold from 10pm to 8am, London time. Repeats are deduplicated at the source, so the same moment never hits your phone twice, and there is a hard cap on how many pushes any hooper gets in a day. If the app is loud, it is because your court is.
Try it yourself.
