Teams

A team on GotNext is a crew with a name, a crest, and a record. It is how you register for runs, challenge for courts, and climb the ladder.

Create your team

Name your crew and you are its captain. One team per player: your record, your colours, and your reputation all live in one place, so a team means something. Rosters run up to seven, enough for five on the court and subs on the side.

Pick your element

Every team picks an element, and the element is the identity: one crest, one deep colour, chosen as a pair. Fire, Water, Earth, Metal, Wind, or Lightning. That colour is not decoration. It flies on every court your team holds, on the map and on the court page, so your territory reads as yours from across the city.

Join by code or by link

Every team has an eight character join code. Your captain can read it out at the court, or send the team's gotnext.uk join link, which opens the join screen in the app with the code already filled. Either way it is the same door: type the code or tap the link and you are on the roster. If the code leaks to the wrong group chat, the captain can rotate it for a fresh one.

Roster and roles

Three roles: captain, co-captain, and member. Captains and co-captains run the team: handling invites and requests, registering the team for runs, and challenging for courts. Removing a player is the captain's call alone. Who wears the armband matters.

Invites and requests

Recruitment runs both ways. Captains and co-captains invite players, and the invite lands with the player to accept or decline. Players request to join a team, and the captain accepts or declines. Both doors respect the roster cap, so a full team never over-promises a spot.

Invite straight from search

Found a hooper in search you want on the squad? If you are a captain or co-captain and they are not already on a team, the invite button is right there on their search result. Scout at the court, sign them before you have left it.

Try it yourself.
